• The predatory mite Amblyseius californicus against different spider mite species
• Translucent with a brown-orange spot in the shape of an X on its back
• Feeds on all stages of the two-spotted spider mite
• Controls pest mites such as the broad mite and the cyclamen mite

• Strong preference for the greenhouse spider mite, but also feeds on other mites, thrips and pollen
• Most effective at low prey density
• Less sensitive to warm and dry conditions
• Also tolerates colder conditions
• Survives on pollen and in the absence of prey it can even survive without food for a while 

• Eats on average 5 prey a day
• Adults prefer eating larvae and nymphs of the greenhouse spider mite
• The larvae mainly eat the eggs of greenhouse spider mite

• Vegetable crops such as sweet pepper and eggplant
• Soft fruit such as strawberry
• Ornamental crops such as rose and chrysanthemum
• Tree nursery
